I love (500) Days of Summer. It is so lovely. I could watch it all day. That and Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind. And The Hairy Bird. And Little Miss Sunshine. And Virgin Suicides. Not only do all these movies have fantastic Cinamatography, but they also have amazing actors/actresses and the best soundtracks in the world! Also Marie Anntionette Soundtrack is equally as breathtaking.

Not a truer word was ever spoken. What happens to time when it disapers?? And would you really go back and change things if you could?? Or do you feel that what has happened in the past has made you the person that you are, and you wouldn’t have it any other way??

Quite possibly the most helpful and true thing ever. Although I doubt if my parents would care if I picked something off the floor and ate it, they saw me eating stuff of the floor my whole childhood so its really no different.

I have a very love/hate relationship with sewing. When I finish a piece of work I look back as proud as anything, wondering why I wasted so many tears over a silly little item. However, in the creation of said items, I often feel an overwhelming sense to give up. To pack away my sewing machine and throw it deep into the abyss of the under-stair cupboard, along with my fathers golf clubs, and my mothers guitar.
But then I wonder what the point would be of ending a relationship that, although gives me such grief at times, also gives me such a sense of pride and achievment, and ultimate happiness. Its like the old saying goes, when you fall off the horse, you have to jump straight back onto it.
I often thought as a child why my Mum would say such a silly thing. I mean I had fallen off a horse before, and I had such a bruised behind the last thing I felt like doing was getting back on. Then I remeberd the feeling of elation as I rode that Philly through the creek and across the great sandy path through the Aussie bush, and all of a sudden the fall didn’t seem so bad.
Everytime I approach such a beast, I am still terrified, such a stong animal could throw me off or trample me in a matter of seconds. I get the same feeling whenever I sit down to the white beast perched on my dinning room table. Then I grab all sense of bravery, with an exact stitching plan of my said item, and start to sew. Although it may get off to a rocky start, and I may fall off the horse once or twice, the excitement I feel when I am close to the end of the ride is worth the anxiety. And I wouldnt give it up for the world.

I have a love of aprons. Esspecially vintage ones. I have only made these two myself but have a collection of about 10 at the moment that have been collected from various op-shops and vintage shops from around the country.
The pattern I have used for these is a vintage reproduction of a 50s apron from Simplicity designs. It is pretty simple, if you have the patience. Which at times I did not (bias binding is a killer!!!).
The red one is made from a vinyl tablecloth I found at a garage sale with my wonderful boyfriend. He got it for me as a present :).
The other one is made from quiliting material from Spotlight.
Stay posted for more installments of the aprons!

So, I’m going to start doing some knitting. I have NO idea how to so its all going to be a rather fun adventure. I have some very very lovely knitting needles that I purchased in the Salamanca Markets in Hobart. They are wooden 8mm needles with wooden red and white spotted balls on the top. Totally adorable. On the other hand, so are these Vintage knitting needles.
I am also teaching myself how to crochet. With help from Meet Me At Mikes, Pip, I am able to follow online tutorials. Which are easy as pie to follow! Wonderful!!
Fingers crossed I can actually understand the technicalities of it all and pick it up easily!!

This is the first of many vintage kimono wraps. I’m so excited to be doing this project with my friends from Japan, Sonoda and Chizuko! I have 100 kimono’s being sent over to me at different times over the year, so I can be as creative as I want with them! At the moment Im focusing on wrap skirts. Planning on selling some on Etsy and some in boutiques in Fremantle and Perth.
